- What is DijiUni?
- DijiUni is a platform developed by EXERT that lets universities issue certificates and micro-credentials as verifiable Open Badges 3.0 digital badges, lets holders keep them in a digital wallet, and lets anyone verify them at a single address. Why DijiUni? →
- Who uses DijiUni?
- Three groups: universities that issue certificates (continuing education centres and related units), holders who keep certificates in their digital wallet, and employers and public bodies who check that certificates are genuine.
- Is the service free?
- The digital wallet and verification are free for holders and verifiers. Universities use the system through an institutional subscription.
- Is DijiUni a government service?
- No. DijiUni is an EXERT product. It does not replace YÖK programme approval and does not upload documents to e-Devlet; it provides the issuing, verification and e-Devlet query service infrastructure on behalf of institutions.
- Which languages are supported?
- The interface is in Turkish and English. Verification results and badge information can be viewed in both, so an employer abroad can check a certificate on the English verification page.
Institutions
- How does a university start using DijiUni?
- EXERT opens the institution account. The institution administrator then sets up units, users, roles and certificate templates, and a programme officer creates the first programme with its Annex 1 fields.
- How are the 11 Annex 1 fields kept?
- The programme form keeps each of the 11 fields separately, and the same fields are written into the data structure of the signed badge. ECTS is calculated on the 25-hour workload definition. Annex 1 table →
- Can the YÖKSİS application be made through DijiUni?
- The application itself is made in YÖKSİS. DijiUni produces a YÖKSİS-ready package from the programme record, records the YÖK approval number on the programme and badge, and blocks SEM certificates from unapproved programmes. SEM and 1 October 2026 →
- Is separate software needed for e-Devlet queries?
- No. DijiUni provides the document query service that e-Devlet calls, on behalf of the institution. Opening the service requires a Service Integration Protocol between the institution and TÜRKSAT.
- How is an erroneous certificate corrected?
- It is revoked in one step and reissued with the correct information. Because revocation is published in the status list, every copy of the old certificate shows as revoked at its next verification; the action is recorded in the audit log.
- Can participants be imported from a learning management system?
- Yes. Participant and result data can be imported by CSV, LTI 1.3 or REST API, and institution staff can use SAML or OIDC single sign-on.
- How is personal data protected?
- The Turkish ID number is stored encrypted only in the institution's record; the badge carries only a salted hash. Privacy notices and consent texts are shown on separate screens and consents are stored with timestamps.
Certificate holders
- How do I receive my badge?
- When the university issues it, you receive a link by email. After following it, signing in without a password and accepting the privacy notice, the badge is added to your digital wallet. Digital wallet guide →
- Do I need to be a student?
- No. Anyone who completes a university certificate programme can receive a badge, including employees, graduates and external participants.
- How do I share my badge?
- Set the badge visibility to "Link only" or "Public", then share it by link, QR code, embed code or email signature. You can also create a time-limited, password-protected share link.
- Can I add my badge to LinkedIn?
- Yes. The "Add to LinkedIn profile" button fills in LinkedIn's add-certification form together with the verification link, which shows the certificate's current status. LinkedIn steps →
- What if I lose my certificate?
- The badge is kept in your digital wallet, so it cannot be lost; sign in with your email address to download the badge image, the certificate PDF and the signed data again at any time.
- Is there a mobile app?
- The wallet works fully in a smartphone browser. An Android and iOS app using the same account is in pilot distribution and allows badges to be viewed offline.
- Can I get credit at another university with my badge?
- Recognition is decided by the target university. The wallet's Recognition section produces a package with the Annex 1 PDF, signed data and verification links; if the target university uses DijiUni, the request goes straight to its review queue.
Verifiers
- How do I verify a certificate?
- On the verification page, enter the short code or link from the document, scan the QR code or upload the badge file (PNG, SVG, PDF, JSON). The result appears within seconds. Verify a badge →
- Do I need an account to verify?
- No. The verification page is public and free; no account is needed.
- What does a "Valid" result prove?
- That the certificate was issued by the institution named on it, has not been changed since and is not revoked or suspended. Whether the person presenting it is the holder may need a separate check.
- What if the holder's name is not shown?
- The name may be hidden by a privacy setting. Enter the person's date of birth or the last four digits of their Turkish ID number in the identity check field on the result screen to confirm a match.
- How can I tell that a certificate has been revoked?
- The verification result shows "Revoked". Because revocation is published in the institution's status list, the copy you hold also shows as revoked at its next verification.
- Can I verify many certificates in bulk?
- Yes. A key-based verification API is available for organisations; it runs the same checks as the verification page and returns a machine-readable result.
Regulation and standards
- What is a micro-credential?
- A micro-credential is a short, small-scale qualification whose learning outcomes are verified by assessment and which is quality assured. - What changes on 1 October 2026?
- Continuing education centre certificate programmes starting from that date are submitted to YÖK for approval through YÖKSİS, and certificates of approved programmes are intended to be verifiable on e-Devlet. SEM and 1 October 2026 →
- Can my certificate be viewed on e-Devlet?
- If your university has enabled the service, your certificate can be queried on the e-Devlet Gateway by its number. e-Devlet does not store the certificate; the query is forwarded to the issuing university's system, which answers it.
- What is Open Badges 3.0?
- Open Badges 3.0 is 1EdTech's digital badge standard built on the W3C Verifiable Credentials 2.0 data model. It defines a badge as a data record carrying the institution's signature that can move between wallets. What is a digital badge? →
- Can DijiUni badges be verified with other software?
- Yes. Each institution's issuer identity uses did:web, so compatible verifier software can check the signature against the institution's public key without contacting DijiUni.
